What Does a CMP Test Measure?
The CMP is a panel of 14 blood tests that provides a comprehensive snapshot of your metabolic health. It measures glucose (blood sugar), kidney function (BUN, creatinine), liver function (ALT, AST, ALP, bilirubin), electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, CO2), calcium, and protein levels (albumin, total protein). It is one of the most commonly ordered panels in medicine.
How the Test Works
The CMP test is performed via a standard blood draw at any Quest Diagnostics location. Your sample is sent to a CLIA-certified lab for analysis. Results are typically available within 1-2 business days in your JustLabs account.
