What Does a Testosterone Test Measure?
This test measures both total testosterone (all testosterone in your blood, bound and unbound) and free testosterone (the biologically active portion not bound to proteins). Together, they provide the most complete picture of your testosterone status. Only about 2-3% of testosterone is "free" — the rest is bound to SHBG and albumin.
How the Test Works
The Testosterone test is performed via a standard blood draw at any Quest Diagnostics location. Your sample is sent to a CLIA-certified lab for analysis. Results are typically available within 1-2 business days in your JustLabs account.
