STI Test Panel: HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis, Chlamydia & Gonorrhea
Five Quest tests covering six infections that often cause no symptoms: HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. One visit for a blood draw and a small urine sample, and any automatic confirmation test is included in the $102 price.
Most sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections can be present for months or years without symptoms, so testing is the only way to know. This panel checks for six of the most important ones in a single visit to a Quest Patient Service Center: a blood draw plus a small urine sample.
HIV (4th-generation antigen/antibody) looks for HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies and the p24 antigen, which appears before antibodies do. Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) shows whether hepatitis B virus is present now. Hepatitis C antibody shows whether you have ever been exposed to hepatitis C, and an automatic RNA test tells a current infection from a cleared one. Syphilis (RPR) is a screening blood test; a reactive result is automatically titered and confirmed with a treponemal antibody test. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are tested on the urine sample with a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), with a separate result for each.
Why together? These infections spread in overlapping ways, and having one is a reason to check for the others. The CDC recommends HIV testing for everyone who seeks STI testing, and testing anyone diagnosed with gonorrhea for chlamydia, syphilis and HIV. It also recommends that every adult be screened at least once for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Every automatic follow-up test is included in the $102 price with no extra charge: HIV confirmation and, if needed, HIV RNA; hepatitis B surface antigen confirmation; hepatitis C RNA; and the syphilis titer and confirmatory antibody test. All run on the same samples, so there is no second visit.
Results go to your private JustLabs dashboard, and no insurance claim is filed.

Included Tests
HIV-1/2 Antigen and Antibody, Fourth Generation, with Reflexes
A 4th-generation blood test that screens for HIV-1 and HIV-2 by detecting both the p24 antigen and antibodies, with automatic follow-up testing if the screen is reactive. Confirmation testing is included.
Hepatitis B Surface Antigen with Confirmation (HBsAg)
Checks for current hepatitis B infection, acute or chronic. A reactive result is automatically confirmed on the same sample.
Hepatitis C Antibody (with reflex to RNA)
Screens for hepatitis C infection, with automatic confirmatory RNA testing if the antibody is reactive.
Syphilis Screen (RPR)
Rapid Plasma Reagin test for syphilis screening. A reactive result is automatically confirmed with a treponemal antibody test, included in the price.
Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae RNA, TMA, Urogenital (Urine)
One urine sample screens for both chlamydia and gonorrhea using a highly sensitive nucleic acid amplification test (TMA). Detects urogenital infection.

What This Panel Measures
Five Quest tests on one blood sample and one urine sample: HIV-1/2 antigen and antibody, 4th generation (with automatic antibody differentiation and, if needed, HIV-1 RNA); hepatitis B surface antigen (with automatic confirmation); hepatitis C antibody (with automatic HCV RNA if reactive or borderline); syphilis RPR (with automatic titer and Treponema pallidum antibody confirmation if reactive); and chlamydia and gonorrhea RNA by TMA (NAAT) on first-catch urine. All of those follow-up tests are included in the price.
Who Should Get This Panel
Anyone who wants a broad check: after a new partner or a partner who tested positive, before stopping condom use with a partner, if you have had more than one partner since your last test, or simply if you have never been tested. CDC screening guidance includes: HIV at least once for everyone 13-64 and at least yearly with ongoing risk; hepatitis B and hepatitis C at least once for every adult; yearly chlamydia and gonorrhea for sexually active women under 25 and older women at increased risk; and for sexually active gay and bisexual men, at least yearly HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea, every 3-6 months at increased risk. You do not need to share a reason to test.

When to Get Tested
For routine screening, any time; no fasting is needed. After a specific possible exposure, timing matters, because each infection becomes detectable on a different schedule. HIV: this lab antigen/antibody test usually detects HIV 18 to 45 days after exposure. Chlamydia and gonorrhea: test when you have a new partner or a partner tests positive, and retest about 3 months after any treatment. Syphilis: the first sore usually appears about 3 weeks after exposure, and blood tests can still be negative at that point. Hepatitis B: surface antigen can appear as early as 1-2 weeks but sometimes not until 11-12 weeks. Hepatitis C: antibodies usually take 8-11 weeks to appear. A negative result inside these windows is not conclusive, so plan to retest after the longest window that applies to you. If the exposure was in the last 72 hours, contact a clinician or urgent care now about HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) instead of waiting to test. If you have symptoms such as a sore, discharge or burning, see a clinician promptly.
Understanding Your Results
Each infection is reported separately. Non-reactive or not detected means no sign of that infection at the time of the test; if you tested inside a window period, retest later. HIV: a reactive screen is automatically checked with an antibody differentiation test and, if needed, HIV RNA; the final interpretation says whether HIV is confirmed. Hepatitis B: a reactive surface antigen is automatically confirmed; a confirmed result means the virus is present now. Hepatitis C: a reactive antibody triggers an RNA test; RNA detected means current infection, RNA not detected usually means a past infection that cleared. Syphilis: a reactive RPR is titered and confirmed with a treponemal test; a positive treponemal test usually stays positive for life even after treatment, so a clinician reads both results together with your history. Chlamydia or gonorrhea detected means a current urogenital infection. Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis are curable with antibiotics, hepatitis C is curable with oral medication, and HIV and hepatitis B are treatable with ongoing care. JustLabs results are informational; review any positive or unclear result with a clinician promptly.
