JustLabs vs Function Health: One-Off Tests or an Annual Membership
TL;DR
They solve different problems. Function Health is a $365-a-year membership with 160+ lab tests, two rounds of testing and clinician review of every result. JustLabs has no membership: you buy only the tests you want, from $5 each plus one $18 order fee. If you want everything tested twice a year, Function is the better value. If you want a few specific tests, JustLabs costs far less.

When the membership wins
Per marker, Function is hard to beat if you want the full list. Our largest bundle, the 31-test Total Body Panel, costs more than a Function year with 160+ tests. If broad, repeated screening and a clinician reading every result is what you want, Function gives you more for the money.
When paying per order wins
Most people have a narrower question: is my thyroid medication dosed right, did my ferritin recover, what is my A1c. A Basic Thyroid Panel is $30 and a Comprehensive Wellness Panel is $94, each plus the $18 fee, with nothing to renew. You can also retest one marker whenever you need to, without paying for a year of testing.
What you are buying beyond the tests
A Function membership includes clinician review of every result, and flags for anything that needs attention. JustLabs is deliberately simpler: you get the same kind of Quest draw, your results online and an optional AI prompt to take to the assistant you already use. Nobody at JustLabs reviews normal results, so bring them to your own doctor.
When JustLabs Makes Sense
- You know which tests you want, or your doctor told you
- You are retesting one or two markers
- You do not want a subscription or annual commitment
- You want results to take straight to your own clinician
