¿Cuál es el Nivel Normal de 17-OHP?
El rango normal de 17-OHP es Below 200 ng/dL. Valores por debajo o por encima de este rango pueden indicar una condición que requiere evaluación adicional.
Tabla de Rangos de Referencia
| Marcador | Bajo | Normal | Alto |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17-OHP (early-morning, follicular phase) | Low values are not clinically significant | Below 200 ng/dL | Above 200 ng/dL — screen positive; an ACTH stimulation test is needed to rule out nonclassic congenital adrenal hyperplasia |
Qué Afecta los Resultados
Time of day is the biggest factor — 17-OHP peaks in the early morning and falls through the day, so an afternoon draw can read misleadingly low. It also rises after ovulation and in pregnancy, so the follicular phase (roughly days 2-8) is the interpretable window. Glucocorticoid medication lowers it.
Cuándo Repetir la Prueba
A single well-timed screen is usually enough. If it is elevated, the next step is an ACTH stimulation test arranged by a clinician, not a repeat of this one. Retest only if the first sample was mistimed.
