Developers & AI agents
Give your AI the real JustLabs prices.
A remote MCP App, an all-in quote API and machine-readable catalogue feeds — read-only, no API key, no personal data. Built so assistants and comparison sites can state exactly what an order costs.

The pricing rule
An order costs the sum of its test and panel prices plus ONE $18 lab & physician order fee (Quest blood draw + independent physician order), charged once per order however many items it holds. Orders are not accepted from NY, NJ, RI or HI.
Live example (CA)
| TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) (tsh) | $9 |
| Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy (vitamin-d) | $25 |
| Lab & physician order fee (once per order) | $18 |
| Total checkout charges | $52 |
TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) $9 + Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy $25 + $18 order fee = $52.
MCP App
Remote MCP server, StreamableHTTP transport, no authentication: https://mcp.justlabs.health/mcp. In MCP Apps-capable clients such as Claude and ChatGPT, every tool also renders an interactive widget — test cards, panel comparisons and a cart that hands off to justlabs.health. Other clients get the same data as text.

| Tool | What it does | Example arguments |
|---|---|---|
search-lab-tests | Search the JustLabs catalog by test name, category, description, or biomarker. Product terms only — no names, contact details, symptoms or personal lab results.Matching tests with price, biomarkers and link. | {"query":"thyroid"} |
get-test-details | Full details for one lab test by id: price, biomarkers, preparation and turnaround. The TSH test, its price and what it measures. | {"testId":"tsh"} |
get-test-panels | Bundled test panels, with each panel price compared to its tests bought separately. Optional category filter.Thyroid panels with bundle vs separate prices. | {"category":"thyroid"} |
get-pricing | The exact all-in price for one or more test or panel ids — item prices, the single per-order fee and the total checkout charges — plus whether the order can be placed in an optional 2-letter US state.Tests $34 + one $18 order fee = $52, orderable in CA, with a prefilled cart link. | {"testIds":["tsh","vitamin-d"],"state":"CA"} |
The older npm stdio package justlabs-mcp-server has a different, legacy tool set and does not compute all-in totals. Prefer the MCP App.
HTTP endpoints
Base URL https://justlabs.health. CORS open, JSON, cached briefly.
GET/api/public/v1/quote?items=…&state=…
All-in price of a basket: item prices, the single $18 per-order fee and the total, in integer cents — computed by the same code checkout charges with. Optional state availability and a prefilled cart link.
GET/api/public/v1/availability?state=…&item=…
Whether JustLabs accepts orders from a state and, with item, whether that test or panel is offered there.
GET/api/catalog
Compact catalogue for LLM grounding: id, name, price, biomarkers, category, url and a short description per test and panel. Supports ?locale=es and ?utm_medium=<tool>.
GET/api/tests
The full public catalogue: every test and panel with its public fields.
GET/cart/handoff?items=…
Not an API: a link that opens the JustLabs cart prefilled with these ids. Keep utm_source / utm_medium on it for attribution.
GET/<any public page> with Accept: text/markdown
A clean Markdown version of the same page: tests, panels, categories, guides, blog articles. Protected pages (dashboard, checkout, login, admin) always return HTML.

Ordering for patients?
Everything above reads the catalogue and prices. To place Quest lab orders for your users or patients — EHRs, telehealth, clinics, health apps — use the authenticated partner API: create, track and cancel orders, with signed webhooks for requisitions and results, under a signed BAA.
Ground rules
- Read-only. Nothing here places an order or takes a payment; checkout happens on justlabs.health.
- Public catalogue data only. Send catalogue ids and an optional state — never names, contact details, symptoms or lab results.
- Prices are live. Quote the total from the quote endpoint or get-pricing rather than adding the fee by hand.
- Educational, not diagnostic. Symptom → test mappings and test descriptions are not medical advice.
- Rate limited per client IP (60-request burst, about 60 a minute sustained; HTTP 429 with Retry-After). Need more? Email support@justlabs.health.
- Content signals in robots.txt: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=no. Grounding and citation are welcome; training on the content is not.
